The 3 S's of success in cod4. *Edited*

This topic is made for everyone too show how they own in cod4 and to help each other become better.

    <div align="center">1) My settings
    </div>
You think you have no video lag at all???? think again! Resolution i thought was a factor, but apparently i was wrong. The rest of the settings should be accurate.

    Max Res (for me 1440x900
    AA off
shadows YES (very important to have on, it can save your life!!!)
specular map OFF (makes a difference for me but warning...your gun wont have that pretty shine anymore
Depth of field NO (not good too have on in my opinion. You crouch in the grass and aim down your sights and cant see shit cuz everything is blurry)
Glow NO (its all right to have it on, but i keep it off so i can see through windows when its really bright outside)
Soften smoke edges NOOOOO (Keep it off, trust me it changes fps dramatically and disnt have a noticible difference)
Ragdoll and bullet impact is fun too have on and dosnt really effect your fps so yes
Model detail Off ( trust me your enemies look better dead than pretty)
Water detail Off ( y would u want to stare at water anyway)

If you are not moving at superhuman speeds than set them lower ^^

    <div align="center">2) weapons</div>

Why not to use reddot sight - you aim down your sights faster when it has no attachment (excluding the GL)
Why not to use ACOG scope - you have too rely on hip fire accuracy when in close combat
Why no to use Grenade Launcher - Cuz its noob! (i dont use it cuz i suck with it lol)

Best weapon for long range and short range - AK 47
Best weapon for short range - AK 74 or mini uzi
Best weapon for very long range - Any sniper (Avoid using barret, y? alot of recoil for the same amount of damage as any other sniper)
Best weapon for less recoil - m4 Carbine (reddot is pretty good with this weapon)
    <div align="center">3) Other Tips </div>

Change your use key to "V" and your melee to "F". Y? because its easier to press "F" than "V". The only time you need to use your "USE" key is when planting a bomb so its better to have the melee key as "F".

Bunny hop! You dont like bunny hoppers...than get owned lol

Dont camp! You might get a couple of kills but eventually you will be found and killed.

Also Aim low. Especially with an AK since it has a pretty strong recoil.

Ha my settings was all on the lowest when I downloaded this game, I tried this game on my friend&#39;s computer (much better vid card) but I was astonished at how annoying the shiny guns, and blur was when you zoomed in.
I won&#39;t be able to play CoD4 much during the school year but I&#39;ll be active on the forums.

i have 8800GTS 640 too but not the oc one, i have all the settings on high, my res is maxed at 1280x1024 getting from 60 - 90 fps

but the dam smoke brings my fps down to 40s

for me sound is most important when playing, not everyone uses dead silence, but i still can hear u with that when i turn up my headphones, only when u crouch i cant hear u.

wait, why did i just tell u that? shit

see dont put your res down !

and taliban you better ease off the sound or ul be deaf when u hit 40

another thing is not to put the model and texture and world details down if you have a decent card, having them hihg helps spot movement

Tali, thats a good one i forgot too mention. Sound!

Make sure you sound quality in the game settings is on high. Headphones make a huge difference in the game.

Default game settings for sound in my game was medium and it was a huge transition when i went to high.
