Default MW2 for the PC is a flop.

Click "View Steam players per game"

    30,000 players is disappointing.

not sure where you got the math from but it is more like

    Current Peak
    21,561 38,599 CODMW2
    19,500 33,008 CODMW2 MP

    41,061 71,607

you have to remember that when it counts it figure's in single player or coop and also mp as well it is considered 2 different parts of the game. So in current players it is at the top of the list and for peak today it is second on the list if you ask me that is not bad for a first day review. So I don't know how much of a flop it really can be. This is if you add the total players on both sides of the game. Oh also you have to take into account that the players that use Steam itself have not even gotten the game yet they do not get it until the 12th

But you are right i am sure that is no where near what they had expected from the sales of the PC i mean being the first night of release of CODMW2 they sold over 2 million copies next to this release. I know I was at the mid night release last night and out of 200 sales only 16 of them was PC copies and 2 of them was my 2 copies lol so at that gamestop only 14 other people bought the game that night and

Single Player and Multiplayer is essentially the same product as it means that the same people bought it. You can't be serious that 30,000 people are playing multiplayer alone compared to single player. It's 30,000 people. The sales are fails.

Even CoD4 had over a million sales for the PC.

no it is 2 different right up and yes i can be serious when you get the game and run it on steam it is 2 different installs. It is looking at single play and it is looking at MP in different games.

lol come on guys, let it go already, i still havent played it, i will tonight. i just watched the review on game trailers, and it looks awesome. tbh, there are only a few % of people who are so bothered about this. i mean 200,000 people are not much, most of those people were not gonna buy the game anyways.

im sure in time, there will be work arounds and software packs to enable the features for independent hosting etc.

us being bothered about this, aint gonna change anything.

p.s. the reason the pc sales are down, is because SO MANY people (at least in uk) are buying 360's since it's so cheap, you can get an xbox elite + 3 games for £150!!! which is really nothing. and also since ps3 slim has been released, a lot of people have moved to ps3 as well. in my class, there used to be 15~ pc gamers, and they have ps3's and xbox's now. so in my view that's why the sales are down.

Let what go i don't think anyone ever said the game sucked because it does not the game play rocks the single player kicks ass and from what angel and I have played for Coop that kicks ass as well. I just still think they would have had a much better release if they would have not had taken out dedicated servers. I am sure that 200000 out of the 2million they thought was going to sell is a lot i mean figure it up if they would have released it and i am sure it is not just that 200000 that did not buy the game because of no dedicated server. I know whole gaming communities that did not buy the game because of that. So lets says that just the 200000 that signed did not buy the game that is well over 13million dollars that they did not make on the release day because of that I am sure like some say and I believe with the release of the first patch they will have a work around and allow dedicated server just to get that money back.
