PC gamers who felt burned by the decision to drop dedicated server support for Modern Warfare 2 may have a friend in that other Call of Duty developer Treyarch. The developer all but confirms dedicated server multiplayer in Black Ops.

Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia tells CVG that dedicated servers are "excellent" and that the Call of Duty: Black Ops team is "excited about what we're doing right now."

If that doesn't quite sound like solid, undeniable confirmation to you, maybe this will make you feel a tad better. Lamia says that Treyarch is working to "reconcile" the needs of those who want to play on dedicated servers and those who want a more console-like multiplayer experience.

"We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers," he says.

YESS YESS YESSS!!!! this is great! hopefully the game wont be shit and we'll have a new mp game we can all get on, things is will our community have decent rigs to play the game.
more than half the comunity have poor rigs and can hardly run a game at 25 fps let alone 60. (25 should be ok for some people i guess)

btw is it running on mw2 engine?
cos i dont mind if its the same as mw2 and just different maps and skins, mw2 would have been a kick ass game if we all could get on together.

even though most f us have the game half the people can hardly run it with min fps. but nonethe less, i guess your right, maybe if the server was full of outsiders then we would have alot of members playing. i think we need to have any of our servers advertised well.

also when you have outsiders they tend to join the clan thats how we had , sol, jd and and a lot of our members minus the oldtimers.

Sorry for the slow reply Kay but as of right now we have no servers we did have a BC2 server but no one played on it so most of us that played BC2 just found a good server and went there.

But I will let every one know if we can get a bunch of us together again and have help paying for a DED BlackOps server I see no reason why we could not give it a try again we just have to start getting some of the members back in the mix of things. Angel and I have a good connection now we were not down as long as i thought we would be. Plus I get really good ping times to some of the BC2 servers so i am sure we will to DED Ops servers.

The server are going to be 18 players max if ranked and 24 if unranked...also gameservers.com will be the only GSP providing the severs for the game and there wont be public server files, the game will be distributed exclusively through Steam and that means VAC
