Even though EA is working feverishly to keep their master servers online and DICE is busy working on patching some issues in the game, the team that brought you BFBC2 found the time to send this information out the other day:

While the core of the dev team here at DICE as well as all the back-end teams at EA are 110% focused on stabilizing the game experience we do have some other, great news to reveal. Today we’re happy to announce the release date of the second VIP map package for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! It will be made available on the 30th of March on all platforms at no extra cost to all of you who’ve got your VIP codes entered in the game. VIP Map Pack 2 contains the following:

Arica Harbor Conquest mode - US Command launches a break through action directly at the Russian base. Collateral damage is of no consequence. Capture and secure tactical positions in Conquest Mode across the vast Arica Harbor map.

Laguna Presa Rush mode - The valley and surrounding mountains possess a strategic value in the battle for South America, and an infantry assault supported by light armor vehicles is likely by both armies as US forces defend the nearby Dam.

For the PC gamers all the VIP this, VIP that talk is moot. You will be getting this through an update. In fact, the maps aren't new, only the gametype unlocks for those specific maps are.

Does that qualify as DLC? Well, let's face it, DICE is really speaking to the XBox/PS3 crowd here.

DICE set the tone on the first DLC: "PC players will get the content as a game update." - Battlefield Blog (Battlefield Blog). Those maps came to us free as well and I suspect this gametype unlock will be as well.

The game don't even work right as it is! They should be more focused on fixing the issues then releasing more content. Only for it not to work either. So far I have been fairly disappointed with this game thus far. and btw if they did a beta then why did they not work out the kinks then?

Sol the troubles they are having could not have been for sen in beta. Because in beta they only release so many keys. They also could have not have known how many people would have ran out and bought the game on the release day due to the countless COD players that decided to switch over to BF instead of COD. The game has been out for 2 weeks now and they are working on it. I mean just look at CODMW2 they had troubles with connection, steam going down. They had all types of things the first month they released it. These are the types of things that happen to all games that have in game log in accounts instead of just start can connect games like COD2 or CODMW I did make a post showing how many logs in the master server's data base the first week.
Yes they should have did over kill on the master servers but who knew that the game was going to sell as well as it did. The only thing they could have went by was the first release of BF2 or BC1 and neither of those games flow off the shelf like this game did.
I guess I am just the devil's advocate here but the game it self runs just fine the troubles lye in the master servers and the log ins.

Sorry about that Pino made the post not me i just read it and was going to post it he just bet me to the punch

The 4 different soldier types have gathered a score of more than 34 Billion.
There's been more than 400M kills made.
1.3M roadkills
Squads and Teams have assisted each other to 6.2 Billion points.
Now we are adding more capacity to let you smash those numbers multiple times over in the weeks to come.

Any game out there that has them many logs in the data base's would have cause any master server to crash

AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HDX925WFGIBOX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103656)
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231189)

Im not even gonna try the game on my pc...amd 3200+ processor, no way ill get even decent performance. Hell, i could barely play mw2

KAYsniper

the game needs power this game is built for PC gamers, pc gamers spend money and buy hardware and tweak their rigs
unlike mw2 where it was built to be played like on a console.

the game does have a few bugs and they will fix it eventually and unlike mw2 where even after doing updates people are still having problems joining games together as a party LMAO

a few patches and this game will be solid. DICE did warn everyone that it will be power hungry when they talked about the explosions effects. you definalty need high CPU, BUS & GPU clock. a 2 core 3ghz CPU and 750+mhz GPU and 4gb's of 800+mhz RAM should let you play this game smooth.

but upgrading just to play this game doesnt make sense
upgrades should be done when all competitive manufacturers release all there new models. only when stable versions of thier CPU / GPU are out then its safe to say its worth buying cos it would last you a good four years if not more (with a onetime upgrades to the GPU)

Kay you have a point just look at EA's BF2 when it was released it was around the same time COD2 was released and I can tell you that BF2 was a system hog as well I mean I had my first machine when playing COD2 and I could barely run BF2 on mid lvl's and still to this day some of the rigs out there still get lag with BF2 because of the system resources it uses.

Now with BC2 it has so much more effects and things so it is even more of a system hog but the over all game play is so much better then MW2 it is not even funny. The maps though they only have a hand full right now are so much bigger and so much more going on. The one thing I like that I have heard is that they are releasing more maps and unlike MW2 you do not have to pay for them. As long as they keep adding maps with having to pay for them it will be great. I do know just like BF2 they game out with so many expansion packs for it that you did have to pay for like armor fury and special forces that were just add on to the game itself but with those addon's came more features with the game so but they still released patches for them so if they treat BC2 like they did BF2 we should have a good 4 to 5 years playing this game with out any troubles.

I will mention that they plan on releasing BF3 around the end of this year that is another platform for EA to take over.

OH YEAH BEST PART ABOUT THIS GAME THEY FUCKING HAVE DEDICATED SERVER FOR US ALL TO PLAY TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the problem now is were losing our members due to not being able to run the game on their systems,

ea are also releasing MOH at the end of this year! graphics looks intense on it

but i have faith in our members and i think the members will come back once they get round to upgrading their pc's this Xmas or next year ;)

Well I will be upgrading in like the next month, because I need it period. I still have an AGP grfx card and a single core CPU and only 1.5gb of DDR RAM so I think its time to upgrade my shit. When I bought this computer from a friend it was slightly outdated then.

And as for NO-CD wtf!! The NAVY?! So you are going to be a SEMEN? hahahaha JK good luck to you I have always wanted to be the guy on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier tell the pilots to take off. Ever since Top Gun!!

Well I can run the game just fine on default setting's with a 60$ cpu (AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor) 2 gigs of ram. And a 9800gt. on XP. Granted I haven't even tried playing on max settings but default mid look fantastic and I have great frame rates. If I want to shit all over myself, over grafix I'll go back to playing crysis.

Hell I played BF2 on mid settings all the way until I got hardware that could support max setting and still give me 100+ FPS so that's 5 years of playing on mid.

Grafix take a back seat to FPS for me. But I guess my point is you don't need an extreme system to decently run this game. I am proof. There is a thread some where around here with my specs on it. Nothing special. But playing the hell out of some bfbc2.

I was as well agent but that last release is not COD worthy if you ask me i really hate it to be honest i have not even started the game in over 4 weeks because i was so disappointed in that release of the game it was not even funny. If they would removed the steam feature and give us back dedicated servers i would think different but for me I can not stand that game anymore.

I feel the same way, haven't played the game since December. If it was possible on steam to gift already purchased games I would have given it to Pino for good :P
